I am amazed at the simultaneous outrage from both sides of the political spectrum. Initially the president said that we need to cut taxes breaks and subsidies to help balance the budget. The GOP becomes outraged by this and calls it 'class warfare'. This in turn has resulted in outrage from the left who feel that the GOP has been engaging 'class warfare' since Social Security was enacted.
Speaking only for myself I was stunned that Senator Rubio said it was class warfare because the President suggested raising taxes on a certain portion of the population. With the coordinated attacks on the middle class happening on across the country in GOP controlled states I was surprised that the rich could feel that they were under attack anywhere.
I try to keep an open mind and try to see the other sides point of view but I don't think I am doing as well as I thought I was.
